Streamline Your AMS Workflow with Custom Cloud Applications

Illinois Retired Teachers Association (IRTA) uses Novi AMS to manage their members who are organized into local units or chapters. They came to Digital Mettle needing a solution to help their paying members receive increased benefits which included a “Member Activity Monthly Snapshot.”

IRTA’s needs:

1. Create a monthly PDF Activity Report to show specific changes of members within each chapter.
2. Email the PDF to designated chapter members each month.
3. Store all PDFs in IRTA’s SharePoint account for easy reference.

Digital Mettle’s solution:

1. Build a web application hosted in Azure using .NET, C#, and a SQL Database.
2. Web application takes snapshots of all member activity at the beginning and end of the month and stores them in the SQL database.
3. Develop a custom QuickBooks App specifically for IRTA to import payment activity from QuickBooks.
4. Create an API integration including webhooks with Novi AMS to import member information and activities.
5. At the end of the month, each snapshot is compared, and filtered changes are reported in a PDF generated by the web application.
6. Create a SharePoint integration to store generated PDFs in IRTA’s SharePoint account.
7. PDFs are also emailed to designated chapter members.
8. Monthly summary and any errors encountered during the process are emailed to Digital Mettle.

Results:

IRTA was extremely happy with the solution Digital Mettle developed. It did exactly what they wanted and allowed them to provide an essential and valuable service to their members. Creating a direct Quickbooks integration automated a very manual piece of their business process, allowing more time to focus on members.
