APTA Pelvic Health offers on-demand courses and live events through a learning management system (Canvas LMS). They needed a method for members to purchase correlating courses and tickets for the live events in Novi, single sign-on from Novi into Canvas LMS where they would see their purchases. Once a member completed a course or event in Canvas, CE credits could reported back into Novi.

APTA Pelvic Health needs:

  1. Integrate courses in Canvas LMS with courses and events in Novi AMS.
  2. Record CE credits completed in Canvas into member record in Novi.
  3. Purchases made in Novi need to show in LMS member dashboard.

Digital Mettle’s solution:

  1. Developed a custom web application hosted in Azure using .NET, C#, and a SQL Database.
  2. Custom admin application dynamically loads Novi and LMS information to allow mapping of Novi courses and events to LMS courses.
  3. Single Sign-On and API developed so purchased courses and events in Novi are available in LMS member dashboard.
  4. Custom API webhook from Canvas LMS to Novi once course completed to report CE credit.

Results:

APTA Pelvic Health is able to offer a multitude of courses and live events as part of a core benefit to their members. Allowing APTA to easily manage courses, events, and CE credits streamlines a very important process within their organization. APTA was very happy with the results and continue to expand their offerings as part of certification and CE credits critical to their members.
